State report: 542 new cases, 5039 active cases , 345 recovery, 16190 confirmed cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 26 June 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 65.07 percent though the number of new cases is increasing in a slow rate. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In the state 542 new cases (1 day before-475, 2 days before- 445) as well as    10 death (1 day before-15, 2 days before-11) and 345 recovery (1 day before-488, 2 days before-484) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 16190 (1 day before-15648, 2 days before-15173) while active cases is 5039 (1 day before-4852, 2 days before-4880). The death toll from the disease till now is 616 (1 day before-606, 2 days before-591).

After recovery of the infection 10535 (1 day before-10190, days before-9702) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 65.07 %.

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 50, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 9537 (1 day before-9492, 2 days before-9489) samples were tested that tally 448795 (1 day before-439258, 2 days before-429766) till now since day 1.   

In the last 24 hours, 90771 persons (1 day before- 98751, 2 days before-110803) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 305367 persons (1 day before-302688, 2 days before-301188) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 214596 (1 day before-203957, 2 days before-190385).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are         7330 persons (1 day before-7865, 2 days before-8585) and so far from these centres 93898 persons (1 day before-93180, 2 days before-92189) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
