Record 624 new cases, 526 recovery=65.44 %, 17907 confirmed cases, 5535 active cases

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 June 2020: Todays report states a record and encouraging recovery of cases equivalent to 65.44 percent though the number of new cases is increasing in a slow rate. West Bengal is now at 7th position in terms of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

In the state 624 new cases (1 day before-572, 2 days before- 521) as well as 14 death (1 day before-10, 2 days before-13) and 526 recovery (1 day before-404, 2 days before-254) is recorded in the last 24 hours.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 17907 (1 day before-17283, 2 days before-16711) while active cases is 5535 (1 day before-5451 , 2 days before-5293). The death toll from the disease till now is 653 (1 day before-639, 2 days before-629).

After recovery of the infection 11719 (1 day before-11193, days before-10789) Covid patients are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has encouragingly increased to 65.44 %

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 51, ICMR testing labs is being done and in the last 24 hours 9513 (1 day before-10563, 2 days before-9537) samples were tested that tally 478419 (1 day before-468906, 2 days before-458343) till now since day 1.   

In the last 24 hours, 71466 persons (1 day before-77217, 2 days before-84291) were under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and a total of 310658 persons (1 day before-308510, 2 days before-305367) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance till today.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 239192 (1 day 231293before-, 2 days before-214596).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are            6931 persons (1 day before-, 2 days before-7330) and so far from these centres 95944 persons (1 day before-95383, 2 days before-94993) were released after recovery.

Currently in the state there are 78 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 25 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
