3 Covid patient dies : 27 cases recorded in Siliguri, 3 markets open; 26 of Malda, 5 of Coochbehar, 1 of Jalpaiguri tested positive.

Siliguri:

2 Covid patients died in Siliguri. Two Covid -19 positive patients died in Siliguri while one died in Jalpaiguri. Ashoke Chetri 46 yr of Matigara was admitted last night in a serious condition at Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU) of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) where he died today.

Another 51 yrs Subhasri Das of Deshbandhupara was having symptoms similar to Covid-19 and was brought today to NBMCH in a serious condition. The doctors told that she was brought dead. Both persons tested positive. Her husband is Covid positive and is under treatment.

One 55 yr old patient of Malda died in a Kolkata Covid hospital.

27 cases reported from Siliguri municipality area: They are 4 of ward no.4 (25 yr old, 35 yr old, 51 yr old, 67 yr old), 3 each of ward no.37 (3 yr old, 34 yr old, 42 yr old), ward no.39 (23 yr old, 67 yr old, 83 yr old), ward no.46 (21 yr old, 22 yr old, 24 yr old), 2 each of ward no. 6 (36 yr old, 46 yr old), ward no.17 (23 yr old, 29 yr old), ward no.41 (29 yr old, 51 yr old), ward no.45 (21 yr old, 36 yr old), One each of ward no.3 (38 yr old), ward no.10 (74 yr old), ward no. 11(28 yr old), ward no.18 (37 yr old), ward no. 20 (61 yr old) and ward no.28 (12 yr old).

Markets re-opened: 

Regulated market, Champasari market and have started functioning since today. They along with Fish market and Fruit Market were closed for a fortnight.

Bidhan market is open after closure for five days. It is open with certain SOPs. SMC officials stated that maintenance of social distance and using of mask will be compulsorily followed. Police personnel and NGOs will be in the market to let the people follow the SOPs. 

Other markets are closed- Town Station market, Tikiapara market, Hyderpara market, Ektiasal market, and Salugara market are closed for a week. 

Malda: 26 new cases reported from Malda. It includes a staff of BDOs Office. 12 of the cases are from English Bazar. One 55 yr old patient died in Kolkata where he was being treated in a Covid hospital.

There are 591 Confirmed cases, 316 recovered and 274 active cases.

Alipurduar:   No new cases is reported from Alipurduar. 50 patients recovered and released. In the district there are 182 Confirmed cases, 134 recovered and 48 active cases.

Coochbehar:   5 new cases of Covid 19 infection reported. The complete report of the district is 296 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and 1 of them had died, 287 recovery and 8 active cases. 

Jalpaiguri:  1 new case of Binnaguri reported from Jalpaiguri. She was working as a help with a family and a member of the family tested Covid 19 positive. Tally of district is 336 Confirmed cases of which 258 have recovered, 1 died and 77 are active cases.

NBMCH

There are 14 patients in the three Isolation ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). In the Surgical Isolation ward 2 patient, Respiratory Illness Care Unit (RICU) 8 patients and Gynecological Isolation unit 4 patients are admitted. 

SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness) treatment is started at NBMCH in the FNW2 ward since today. It is started at Old Dental College premises. It has 50 beds.

1 patient of Kurseong is admitted today.

Covid hospital

At Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 77 patients are admitted today. 17 new admission is done today.

7 patients of Darjeeling, GTA area are in the Dr. Chhang’s SS Covid hospital.

3 of Mirik and 1 of Chunabhatti Tindharia, 1 of Kaijaley, 1 of Badamtam, 1 of Barnesburg are admitted.

DESUN hospital

DESUN hospital is the second Covid hospital of Darjeeling district. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 35 Covid-19 patients are admitted. 

1  new admission is done today. 

   

Tribeni Hospital

2 patients with SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Illness) symptoms of Kalimpong are admitted today in this hospital.

One from Kalimpong and another from Darjeeling were already admitted. There are 4 patients today.

HATIGHISA SAFE HOUSE 

1 patient of Gorubathan of GTA with asymptomatic Covid positive diagnosis is admitted to Hatighisa Safe House. 

1 of Soureni already released.

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 29 June 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 1943 and in Kalimpong district is 1274, the tally of GTA area stands to 3217. 

Altogether there are 69 persons in 9 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 458 confirmed cases of which 234 have recovered and 9 died while 215 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 52 confirmed cases of which 45 have recovered, 1 died and 6 are active cases. Alipurduar has 179 confirmed cases of which 115 have recovered while 64 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 348 confirmed cases of which 268 have recovered and 80 are active cases. CoochBehar has 303 confirmed cases of which 296 have recovered and 7 are active cases. Malda has 612 confirmed cases of which 353 have recovered and 1 died and 258 are active cases.
