New cases of Covid - 26 of Darjeeling - 16 of Siliguri including 5 of NBMCH, 10 of Darjeeling Hills, 3 of Kalimpong, 14 of Jalpaiguri, 2 of Alipurduar, DESUN hospital -now a Covid hospital

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 June 2020: 

16 of Siliguri tested positive- They are 5 from NBMCH, 3 from DESUN, 7 from Naxalbari and 1 from SMC area.

5 medics and staff of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital tested positive:  More medics of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital tested positive to Covid-19. VRDL report received in the last 24 hrs states that one intern of gynecology department, one nurse, a driver and 2 staff of Operation Theater of the NBMCH tested positive.

3 patients of DESUN positive: 3 admitted patients of DESUN hospital have tested positive and they are -40 year old of Kamala Bagan Bagdogra, 18 year girl of Shantipara Bhaktinagar, 51 yr old of Samastipur Bihar. All have been shifted to Covid ward of the DESUN Covid hospital.

One person of ward no. 5 near Burdhaman Road, Siliguri Municipal Corporation also has tested positive.

7 of Naxalbari tested positive: During the last 24 hrs,.7 residents of Naxalabari have been reported of infected by Corona virus. 

Almost all of the positive patients of all districts except admitted at DESUN hospital are asymptomatic and are returnees from other states and places out of the district.

13 of Kalimpong and Darjeeling district  tested positive:

3 from Kalimpong tested positive: 1 of Kalimpong Municipality area, one police personnel from Malli and one from Kalimpong I area is reported to be Corona positive.

10 from Darjeeling Hills: 

5 of Dudhia and 5 of Mirik, 10 patients of Hill areas of Darjeeling district have tested positive.

1 of Coochbehar died:

One 60 year old patient suffering from TB admitted a week ago in Dr. Chhang's Covid hospital died yesternight. Earlier he tested positive but on 7th June he tested negative to Covid-19.

14 of Jalpaiguri are positive: As per the information received 8 persons of Jalpaiguri district excluding areas under Siliguri Municipal Corporation have tested positive. 7 police personnel of Jalpaiguri, a fire brigade staff of Maynaguri, 4 of Oodlabari and 2 of Matelli have tested positive.

District tally of confirmed cases stands at 111 of which 9 have so far recovered and there are 102 active cases, others are getting treatment at Jalpaiguri Covid hospital. 

Alipurduar: Today 2 persons after testing positive were admitted at Covid hospital. They are from Mahakalguri and have returned from Rajasthan. So far in Alipurduar there are 45 Confirmed cases, 34 active cases, 1 moved and 10 recovered cases.

Coochbehar: From Coochbehar, today no cases.was reported, so far Coochbehar has 213 Confirmed cases (135 are from Dinhatta), 146 active cases, 1 death and 67 recovered cases.

Sikkim: Report of the state states that there are 13 Confirmed cases, 10 Active cases and 2 Recovered case.Of these 12 are in isolation ward while 22 others doubtful patients are also admitted.

6 detected positive yesterday and declared today are 18 yrs of Chisopani, 1 woman of Himalayan Pharmacy,  husband and wife of Geyzing, 23 yr old of Yoksang and 42 yr woman of Tharku.

DESUN hospital

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 June 2020: 

From today, DESUN hospital has started working as Covid hospital and North Bengal Medical College and Hospital has started as severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital.

In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 20 Covid-19 new patients were admitted along with 3 patients of this hospital itself who tested positive. Beside that 3 patients are admitted in the ICU of this hospital.

In Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital there are 96 patients while 36 patients have been released after recovery. Yesterday there were 118 patients.

24 patients of GTA area are in the Dr. Chhang’s SSC hospital. There were 16 patients, 2 more were admitted today tally stands at 18- they are 6 of Sonada, 1 of Mirik, 7 of Kurseong, 3 of Darjeeling Municipality, 1 of Bijanbari and 11 of Kalimpong (1 of 10 Mile, 3 of Kalimpong Municipality, 1 of 16 Mile, 2 of Nimbong, 1of Upper Bong, 1 of Chandralok, 1 of Kasyom and 1 of Kumai)

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 June 2020: 

Presently 19 patients are admitted with symptoms similar to Covid 19 in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. There are 12 patients in Isolation ward I, 5 patients in gynecological isolation ward while in surgical ward there are 2 patients. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 9 June 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 2900 and in Kalimpong district it is 1349, the tally of GTA area stands to 4249. 

Altogether there are 321 persons in 34 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 134 confirmed cases of which 47 have recovered and 3 died while 84 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 26 confirmed cases of which 7 have recovered, 1 died and 18 are active cases.
