Experts apprehend community transmission in Siliguri

ARPITA BARUAH , EOI, SILIGURI, JUNE 2. 20: As long as there was a lock-down in the entire country including Siliguri, the Corona cases were not that much. People were at their sweet homes. Therefore, there was not as much risk of infection as it has become today. 
Because not only Siliguri, but almost everything has been opened up all over the country. People can move anywhere in India from one place to another. In
 such a situation, experts have expressed apprehension of community transition of Corona. Dr Kaushik Bhattacharjee, Senior Laproscopy Surgeon said 'As of now there is no such community transmission here in Siliguri, and if it happens to be so then the number of Covid hospitals shall increase.' 
Every day new cases of viruses are coming out. In India, the number of corona infected has increased to about two lakhs. Two new cases have been reported again in Siliguri on Monday as per health officials. 
 However,the root cause of these three cases lies in Siliguri. From Monday ie; June 1 all markets, haats, shops, establishments, government, private offices have started functioning. In such a situation, the possibility of corona infection is more.Siliguri residents will have to worry about their safety. 
 Meanwhile Work on 100 percent workers has started in tea gardens in North Bengal. The workers were worried about the lockdown. But, they are happy that the tea-garden has opened. The work of picking leaves has started in full swing from today. Guidelines were issued to close all workplaces across the country and state due to the lockdown to avoid corona infection. 
Tea gardens were not left out either. The gardens were allowed to work with 25 percent during the lockdown and 50 percent later. But, it was harming the tea-cultivation. Beating production. The workers were worried. 
A few days ago, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee directed that tea gardens should be opened in compliance with health rules. It is possible to work with 100 percent workers.
