7 of Darjeeling district reported to be Covid positive: From Siliguri Municipal Corporation area 2 people are indentified to have been infected with Coronavirus, today.
One 55 year old woman of Paresh Nagar ward no 42 and another 21 year old youth of Bhanu Nagar ward no 44 (presently staying at Dhaknikatta of ward no. 46) had been to other states and after their arrival had some complications and were admitted at DESUN (SARI) hospital on 29 May. In the hospital their swab test was taken and the result today stated that both are positive to Covid-19.
1 from Phansidewa contacted from another patient, 2 from Naxalbari contacted the disease from victim of Naxalbari.
2 staff of Batasi quarantine centre.
2 of other district tests positive: A 28 year man of Nayabari Lakhipur Chopra admitted at DESUN has also tested positive.
One person of Jalpaiguri is also reported to have been Covid 9 positive.He is Assistant Medical Superintendent of Jalpaiguri Hospital.
Infected mother delivers baby: 1 Corona infected expectant woman gave birth to a baby girl this morning in NBMCH.
NORTH BENGAL
Covid hospital
65 patients admitted: 65 patients are admitted in Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid Hospital which has a capacity of 86 seas.
These are 31 patients of Coochbehar, 15 of Darjeeling, 9 patients of Alipurduar, one patient of Bangladesh but residing with a relative of Pundibari-Coochbehar and a girl of 8 from Malda suffering from leukemia.
Patients of Darjeeling include 2 of Kurseong, 2 of Sonada, one person of Adarshanagar, ward no. 4 SMC, a woman of Kholtajote of Khoribari suffering from cancer, a kidney woman patient of Nepali Busty – Bhaktinagar area of ward no 34.
The others of Darjeeling district are- one 20 year old youth of Kalujote Phansidewa, 1 of Bagdogra, one 16 year old boy of Stationpara,Naxalbari and 1 year old child of ward no. 34 and a lab technician of Dr. Chhang’s Covid hospital.
One inspector of BSF is from Kadamtala BSF colony and two women who gave birth at NBMCH are not admitted at Dr.Chhang’s hospital instead they are admitted at NBMCH.
The BSF inspector of Kadamtala is under BSF supervision and treatment
20 seats will be added to this hospital. So far 28 Covid patients have recovered and released from Dr. Chhang’s Covid-19 hospital.
NBMCH
11 patients with symptoms similar to Covid-19: Presently patients admitted with symptoms similar to Covid 19 in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital are- 3 patients in Isolation-1 and 6 patients admitted in isolation ward of gynecological maternity department.
One of the patient who is a Corona positive patient gave birth to a baby girl this morning. The 24 year patient is from Jyotinagar of Bagdogra and was undergoing treatment in isolation ward of gynecological department of NBMCH since a week. She was not transferred to Covid hospital due to some complications. Another Covid positive woman of Naxalbari who gave birth to a baby girl in the same ward last week is also admitted with her baby girl in the surgical Isolation ward of NBMCH.
The others in the NBMCH are a 3 month old baby admitted in Paediatric ward and 1 in surgical ward.
1 person admitted in Isolation ward of Pankhabari of GTA area is released today.
DESUN (SARI)
33 patients admitted -3 died: In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital at Kawakhali, 33 patients are admitted of which 5 are in ICU.
1 from Darjeeling is released today and 1 from Mirik is admitted at DESUN hospital.
3 person died here whose report is yet to be received.

In DISHA of Kalimpong 7 persons are admitted tally 16.
In Marwari Bhawan 8 are admitted.
80 are admitted in Youth Hostel at Deorali of Kalimpong.
In ITI at Upper Fagu of Gorubathan 34 admitted, tally 90.
20 are admitted in Farmers, Training Hostel at Pedong of Kalimpong.
8 are admitted in St. Georges HS School Hostel, Pedong, tally 21.
In St. Georges HS School Girls Hostel 9 are admitted.
5 in Upper Dalapchand Library, Kalimpong.
3 are admitted at Lingsey Lepcha Cottage.
2 are admitted at Dalapchand High School.
3 admitted in Rellytar swimming Pool Hall.
6 admitted in Samthar High School
1 admitted in Shankar High School
4 admitted in Gitdabling Ashram Hall Hostel
In Batasia TB Hospital 8 persons are admitted.
9 admitted in Tourist Guest House, GTA Puttabong
3 admitted at Jorpokhari Tourist Lodge, Sukhiapokhari.
In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 9 admitted.
In Singamari IPP Hospital, Darjeeling 6 admitted.
2 new are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong, tally 24.
At Pokhriabong PHC, 11 are admitted.
At Mirik College 35 are admitted.
At Pathasathi Motel, Simulbari 7 admitted.
At Jamuni GTA Guest House, Pulbazar, admitted 44.
424 (yesterday 324) persons are now in 24 different institutional quarantines.
With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 1964 to 2197 and in Kalimpong district it is decreased from 965 to 915.
Altogether there are 3212 (yesterday 2929) persons in home quarantine. Those who recently came from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19.

STATE
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 1 June 2020: Todays report states a slow rise in number of new cases and active case.
In the state 271 new cases (1 day before-371, 2 days before- 317) as well as 8 death (1 day before-8, 2 days before-7) and 149 recovery (1 day before-187, 2 days before-195) is recorded today.
The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 5772 (1 day before-5501, 2 days before-5130) while active cases is 3141 (1 day before-3027, 2 days before-1851). The death toll from the disease till now is 253 (1 day before-245, 2 days before-237) while there is 72 death due to Co-morbidity.
After recovery of the infection 2306 (1 day before-2157, days before-1970) are released from the hospital and the rate of recovery has increased to 39.95%
The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 41, ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 9480 (1 day before-9354, 2 days before--9346) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 213231 (1 day before-203751, 2 days before-194397) till now since day 1.
Today 144678 persons (1 day before-135530, 2 days before- 125287) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 237129 persons (1 day before-225242, 2 days before-211999) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance.
Number of people released from home quarantine was 92451 (1 day before-89712, 2 days before-86712).
Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 17037 persons (1 day before-16818, 2 days before-16152) and so far from these centres 53320 persons (1 day before-51887, 2 days before-50185) were released after recovery.
Currently in the state there are 69 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
