63 new cases reported- 8 cases from Siliguri reported, 2 of Kalimpong, 44 from Malda, 4 from Jalpaiguri, 3 from Alipurduar,1 of Coochbehar...

KalimNews, 5 June 2020, Kalimpong: As per the information received from the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory (VRDL) at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH), 63 fresh Covid 19 positive cases reported are – 2 from Kalimpong, 8 Cases from Siliguri of Darjeeling district, 4 from Jalpaiguri, 1 from Islampur, 3 from Alipurduar, 1 of Coochbehar, and 44 from Malda.

Kalimpong: 2 new cases of Kalimpong includes 2 Civic volunteers working under Kalimpong Police. The Civic person was on duty at Disha Quarantine Centre some times ago and the woman police was on duty in the police station.Their source of transmission is yet to be investigated and speculated. 

Siliguri: 8 cases of Siliguri are - one 17 year girl from Debidanga, one woman of ward no.12 adjoining to Hakimpara and Kanchenjungha Stadium, another 48 yr old woman from ward no.17 near Subhaspalli, one 45 yr man from Khoribari, one 17 year girl of Rajiv Nagar ward no. 46, one of Gangarampur Tea garden (Phansidewa) and one from Chathat (Phansidewa). 

One person who had tested positive has given the address of ward no 19 near Baghajatin park is yet to be traced by the department and still not admitted.

Most of the patients are of the age group between 17-25.  All of patients of Siliguri had travel history and were in quarantines. 

The 17 year girl patient of Debidanga is the one of the member of the family of which all 5 members tested positive to Covid-19, and she was the lone person to have tested negative. Today she too was declared positive and admitted at Dr. Chhang’s SS Covid hospital and all of the six of their family didnot have any travel history.

As of now, active cases of the different districts are Kalimpong 4, Darjeeling 64, Alipurduar 14, Coochbehar 112, Jalpaiguri 18, Malda 72, Uttar Dinajpur 26, Dakshin Dinajpur 18.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 70 confirmed cases of which 11 have recovered and 2 died while 57 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 9 confirmed cases of which 6 have recovered and 1 died while 2 are active cases. 

All of the patients are being admitted at Dr. Chhang's Super Speciality Covid hospital. 

One person died: Death of a 58 yrs old Covid 19 infected person of Darjeeling district is declared today as the Covid patient. Tapas Bardhan of Pradhan Nagar of Baghajatin Colony under ward no 45 died at DESUN (SARI) hospital this morning. His source of transmission is also a mystery.

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 June 2020: 

6 patients with symptoms similar to Covid-19 are admitted:  

Presently 7 patients are admitted with symptoms similar to Covid 19 in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. There are- 1 patient in Isolation ward I and 3 in isolation ward of surgical department and 3 in gynecological isolation ward. 1 child died today.

In Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital, 67 Covid-19 positive patients are admitted and being treated.

DESUN hospital

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 June 2020: 

In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital at Kawakhali, 33 patients are admitted. 6 are referred to Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid -19 hospital

2 patients of Kalimpong are admitted on 3rd and 4th May in this hospital 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 5 June 2020: 

11 patients of GTA area are in the Dr. Chhang’s SSC hospital. (6 of Sonada and Sukhiapokhari, 1 of Mirik, 2 more admitted tally 4 of Kalimpong)

As per our information the patients reported this week are 4 cases of Kalimpong, 5 cases from Kurseong, 5 from Sonada, 1 from Mirik and 5 cases from Sukhiapokhari  that tally 20 cases. 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 2506 and in Kalimpong district it is 940, the tally stands in GTA to 3446. 

Altogether there are 402 persons in 40 institutional facility quarantines.
