1 dies of Covid-19, -a BJP leader of ward no.15 tests positive, 7 new cases from Siliguri, 1 from NBMCH, 2 from Khoribari Naxalbari (tally 10 of Darjeeling district), 10 of Jalpaiguri, 17 of Malda tests positive.

Siliguri: One more Covid patient dead: A female Covid patient died in the Respiratory ICU ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). She was from Kadamtala of Matigara and was admitted yesterday with respiratory problem and died in the early morning. 

10 new cases reported from Siliguri. After Ashoke Bhattacharya a BJP leader tested positive today. Raju Saha, General Secretary of Siliguri Organisational District of BJP and a resident of ward no.15 has been admitted in a Covid hospital. 

Yesterday, Ashok Bhattacharya, MLA and Chairman of the Board of Administrators Siliguri Municipal Corporation tested positive to Covid-19 and admitted in a private nursing home and not in Covid hospital. 

Yesterday Saha had attended a BJP party programme, the administration is going to home quarantine some of the members who attended the programme.

Seven patients of the SMC area are - one patient each from ward nos. 4, 8, 15, 20, 42 and 2 from 46.

A staff of NBMCH also tested positive. The head clerk of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital is found to have been infected of the virus. As of today 4 staff of the office of NBMCH tested positive.

A medical shop owner of Khoribari also has tested positive which has alarmed all the doctors and patients and people who have visited the shop and came in contact with the person.

A female of Naxalbari has tested positive. She is admitted in the Isolation ward of NBMCH.

Discharge: 24 Covid patients who tasted twice negative were discharged from the Covid hospital. 8 of GTA area are discharged today.

Jalpaiguri: 10 new cases are reported from Jalpaiguri. Tally of district is 252 Confirmed cases in the district and 136 have recovered and 116 active cases.

Alipurduar: No new case is reported today from Alipurduar. In the district there are 106 Confirmed cases, 50 recovered and 56 active cases.

Malda: 17 new cases reported including 2 minor and a 70 year old person. In the district there are 349 Confirmed cases, 50 recovered and 56 active cases.

 

Coochbehar:  3 cases of Covid 19 infection is reported today. The complete report of the district is 282 confirmed cases of which 2 are nationals of Bangladesh and one of them had died 220 recovery and 55 active cases. 

NBMCH

NBMCH: There are 5 patients in Isolation ward, 3 patients in Respiratory ICU Isolation ward.

One 48 yr female admitted at RICU ward patient died, she was from Kadamtala of Matigara, her test result has not yet been out.

2 patients of Jaldhaka of Kalimpong are admitted at NBMCH. 

Covid hospital

In Dr. Chhang’s Super Speciality Covid hospital 56 patients are admitted and under treatment. 11 new patients were admitted today.

19 patients of GTA area are in the Dr. Chhang’s SSC hospital. There are 3 patients, they are -1 of Frymal Village, 1 of Ambotia,1 of Tindharia. 

9 of Kalimpong (1 of 12 Dhurey, 1 of Middle Bong Busty, and 7 of Gorubathan).

DESUN hospital is the second Covid hospital of Siliguri. In DESUN Covid Hospital at Kawakhali, 17 Covid-19 patients are admitted and 6 are in ICU. 

GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 18 June 2020: 

The number of people in home quarantine in the district of Darjeeling is 2974 and in Kalimpong district it is 1615, the tally of GTA area stands to 4589. 

Altogether there are 119 persons in 9 institutional facility quarantines of GTA.

Today’s daily state bulletin stated that Darjeeling district has 240 confirmed cases of which 134 have recovered and 4 died while 102 are active cases. Similarly Kalimpong district has 46 confirmed cases of which 26 have recovered, 1 died and 19 are active cases. Alipurduar has 102 confirmed cases of which 33 have recovered while 69 are active cases. Jalpaiguri has 268 confirmed cases of which 115 have recovered and 153 are active cases. CoochBehar has 285 confirmed cases of which 212 have recovered and 73 are active cases.
