India crosses China's tally .. Tamilnadu with 434 new cases is in the second position .. 15 Railway Ministry officials in quarantine after langoor handler tests positive

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 16 May 2020:  With India crossing the coronavirus tally of China, signs of a second wave have cropped up in the country. 
The cases have crossed the 85,000-mark, settling at 85,940. At least 30,152 have been cured from the virus infection. The death toll is at 2,752, with the highest deaths reported from Maharashtra (1068).
A total of 15 Railway Ministry officials have been placed in 14-day quarantine after a langoor handler in Rail Bhawan tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. The names of the quarantined officials have been circulated internally for awareness. The man, who brought the langoor inside the ministry premises to scare the monkeys away as a matter of government policy, had been coming to the ministry till May 4, a discovery by senior ministry officials have found.
The Government of West Bengal has written to the Railway Board that it will bear all costs of movement for Bengal's migrant workers using special trains from other states to West Bengal. The government has said that it will not charge migrants.

Within the last 24 hours, the followings data on Covid-19 in the country is recorded;  death 103 (1 day before-100, 2 days before-134) taking the death toll to 2752 (1 day before-2649, 2 days before-2549) and  3970 (1 day before-3967, 2 days before-3722) new cases, has been recorded in the whole country. Confirmed cases 85940 (1 day before-81970, 2 days before-78003) and 53035 (1 day before-51401, 2 days before-49219) active cases are recorded today.  
Today 30253 (1 day before-27919, 2 days before-26235) have recovered so far according to the latest update released by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare. 

Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state of the country with 29100 (1 day before-27524, 2 days before-25922) confirmed cases and 1068 (1 day before-1019, 2 days before-975) deaths and 6564 (1 day before- 6059 days before-5125) recovery. 

Tamilnadu which has exceeded the record of Gujrat, is the second highest with 10108 (1 day before-9674, 2 days before-9227) confirmed cases and 71 (1 day before-66, 2 days before-64) death and 2599 (1 day before-2240, 2 days before-2176) recovery.

The third highest increase is observed in Gujrat, it has 9931 (1 day before-9591, 2 days before 9267) confirmed cases and 606 (1 day before-586, 2 days before-566) death and 4035 (1 day before-3753, 2 days before-3562) recovery and release from Hospital. 

The next is Delhi with 8895 (1 day before-8470, 2 days before-7998) confirmed cases and 123 (1 day before-115, 2 days before-106) death and 3518 (1 day before-3045, 2 days before-2858) recovery.
