Government provides- Interstate movement registration and train booking for residents of differnt states

KalimNews, 3 May 2020, Kalimpong: Central and state government as well as Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) has started its registration and making arrangement for the return of the residents of different area and state to and from the states where they are stucked and stranded due to the nation wide lockdown.

With an nitiative to let the residents of  respective states come back or go to their home or working place, nodal officers and help lines are arranged by the state government and help lines by the local authority. 
According to GTA, more than 8600 residents of GTA area who are stranded at different states, or wants to return to their home from their working place, has registered themselves in the online portal for return to their home.  

For avoiding contamination of the pandemic Covid 19, return of such students, working personnels, patients and others need various clearance and precautions before their movement. As such, registration of the person is made compulsory. As they need proper medical screening, advisory and surveillance before leaving their present locality and on arriving to their destination and even proper surveillance where they will stay afterwards.

For the proper identification with registration, nodal officers are appointed. After their registration, screened applicants will be provided seats in the special trains named "Shramik Special" and allowed for movement, but the number of such trains is very limited as well as the number of seats is also diminished due to maintaining social distancing.

It may run once a week or only once from a particular place to a destination, a source said.
