Forecast of Light Rain during the week

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 May 2020: India Meterological department warned of light to moderate rain during this week in the Himalayan, Sub Himalayan and gangetic plains upto Andaman & Nicobar islands. 

It has informed regarding the major weather system over the region that yesterday's remnant Western Disturbance has moved away Northeastwards. A cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Bangladesh and adjoining Meghalaya extending upto 3.6 km above mean sea evel.

The cyclonic circulation over south Andaman Sea & adjoining Sumatra coast extending upto mid tropospheric levels persists.Under its influence,a low pressure area very likely to form over southeast Bay of Bengal & adjoining Andaman Sea around 13th May.

Sunday 10 May (DAY1) : Thunderstorm, lightning, gusty wind (40­50) kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal.

Monday 11 May (DAY2) : 1) Thunder squall (50­60 ) kmph, lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal. 2) Thunderstorm, lightning, gusty wind (30­40) kmph likely to occur at one or two places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal. 3) Thunderstorm, lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Sikkim.Tuesday 

12 May (DAY3) : 1) Thunder squall (50­60 ) kmph, lightning likely to occur at one or two places over Gangetic West Bengal. 2) Thunderstorm, lightning, gusty wind (30­40) kmph likely to occur at one or twoplaces over Sub ­Himalayan West Bengal.Wednesday
