10 May 2019- Covid 19 status : 7 patients in institutional and 719 in home quarantine: 1 patient recovered

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 10 May 2020: Kalimpong is preparing a 100 beded level I & II Covid 19 SARI hospital for GTA region at Triveni near Teesta. This hospital will function as a hospital for treating severe acute respiratory illness (SARI) and Isolation centre equipped with ventillators and also as a centre for taking swab sample to be sent to the Virus research and diagnostic laboratory (VRDL) 

DAILY REPORT 



NORTH BENGAL 
One patient released: One Covid-19 positive patient of Jorai Rampur of Coochbehar tested negative twice and is released today from Dr. Chang's Super specialty Covid-19 Hospital located at Himanchal Vihar Siliguri.
The second 45 yr old male patient of Malda admitted in Dr. Chang's Super specialty Covid-19 Hospital located at Siliguri who tested negative could not be released. 
6 positive patients at Covid Hospital:  Currently, 6 more Covid-19 patients are being treated at Dr. Chang’s Covid-19 hospital. As they tested positive for the second time their treatment is continuing though their condition is stable. 
All of them donot belong to the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong. 
2 admitted at NBMCH: 2 patients of Dinhata and Naxalbari are suspected to have been infected of Covid-19 and are admitted today at Isolation ward of NBMCH.
6 new cases from Uttar Dinajpur &  Malda : 2 of Raiganj, 1 of Hemtabad and 3 of Malda new cases of Covid-19 have been reported.All are asymptomatic. 
27 medicos tested negative: All 27 doctors and staff of NBMCH and other hospitals who were co-traveller with the Covid-19 positive eye specialist doctor tested negative twice 3 days ago and are kept at Amit Agarwala quarantine centre near NBMCH and waiting for their third test. 

In Desun hospital 16 admitted: 16 new patients are admitted in Desun hospital and 4 patients are already admitted in Desun (SARI) Hospital with similar symptoms to Covid-19 and they are under observation/ treatment. 
2 patients,1 patient each from Kalimpong and Darjeeling district is admitted today. There are 33 patients.

Several suspected people coming from other states and reaching north Bengal are admitted in different government designated Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) hospitals but test result of all came to be negative.

GTA 
7 patients in institutional and 719 in home quarantine: At quarantine centre of ITI, Upper Fagu Gorubathan under Kalimpong district, 3 persons are admitted for quarantine.
1 person in Batasia TB centre, and 3 in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong are undergoing quarantine. 
With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in self quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 352 to 415 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 266 to 304. 

STATE



In the state 153  new cases  (1 day before-108, 2 days before- 130)  and 14 death (1 day before-11, 2 days before-9)  and 45 recovery (1 day before-49)  is recorded today and the total number of confirmed cases Covid-19 in West Bengal is 1939 (1 day before-1786, 2 days before-1678) while active cases is 1337 (1 day before-1243 , 2 days before-1195) and death toll till now is 113. 
There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 417 (1 day before-372, 2 days before-323) are released after recovery.
The testing of samples of Covid-19 in the 18 (4 new) ICMR testing labs has been increasing testing of samples at a very good rate and today 4046 (1 day before-3601, 2 days before-3015) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 43414 (1 day before-39368, 2 days before-35767) till now since day 1. 

A total of 18458 (1 day before-14490, 2 days before-9576) persons are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and number of home quarantined tally  85477 (1 day before-80969, 2 days before-75541) while 67019 (1 day before-66479, 2 days before-65965) people were released from home quarantine. 
Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 5921, (1 day before-5478, 2 days before-4964) persons and so far from these centres,19453 (1 day before-18796, 2 days before-18307) persons were released in the past.  
Currently in the state there are 68 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 52 Private Covid-19 hospitals.

INDIA 
Today is the India’s nationwide lockdown's 46th day or the 6th day of the 3rd phase of lockdown, which has been extended till May 17. Restrictions have been eased in non-hotspot areas from today. 

The United States — hardest hit by the pandemic in terms of the number of fatalities — has now confirmed a total of 1,283,829 coronavirus cases. The death toll in the country rose to 77,180.
In the last 24 hours, 128 deaths (1 day before-95, 2 days before-103) taking the death toll to 2109 (1 day before-1981, 2 days before-1886) and 3277  (1 day before-3390, 2 days before-3561) new cases, has been recorded in the whole country. Confirmed cases 62939 (1 day before-59662, 2 days before-56342) and 41472 (1 day before-39834, 2 days before-37916) active cases are recorded today. 

Today 1455 people that tally 19358 (1 day before-17846, 2 days before-16539) have recovered so far according to the latest update released by the Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare. 

Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with 20228 (1 day before-19063, 2 days before-17974) cases and 779 (1 day before-731, 2 days before-694) deaths and 3800 (1 day before-3470, 2 days before-3301) recovery. 

The second highest increase is observed in Gujrat, it has 7797 (1 day before-7402, 2 days before-7013) confirmed cases and 472 (1 day before- 449, 2 days before-425) death and 2091 (1 day before-1872, 2 days before-1709) recovery and release from Hospital. 

The next is Delhi with 6542 (1 day bfeore-6318, 2 days before-5980) confirmed cases and 73 (since 3 days before-66) death and 2020 (1 day before-1931, 2 days before-1542) recovery.
