Another Covid patient reported from Siliguri..2 discharged after recovery.. In GTA area- 98 persons in institutional and 3151 in home quarantine


KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 May 2020: Another Covid infected woman reported in Siliguri: New cases of Coronavirus infection is being reported everyday though they are recovering within a short span of time. A 29 year old woman of Nepali Busty – Bhaktinagar area of ward no 34 near NJP bridge under NJP is reported to be positive to Covid-19. She was admitted at North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) on Monday 25 May and transferred to Isolation ward. For her chronic kidney related treatment in March she had been to Ramachandra hospital in Chennai and had returned back in an ambulance with great effort.On her return she was advised for isolation and admitted at NBMCH. Her test was done and her test result was reported today and finding her Covid-19 positive, transferred to Dr. Changs’s Super Speciality Covid Hospital. She is a mother of 3 month old baby.
Her family members are also transferred to quarantine centre.
The Covid-19 positive mother of Atal village of Naxalbari and her newly born baby girl is keeping well in the isolation ward of NBMCH.

NORTH BENGAL 
Covid hospital
4 patients admitted: In Dr. Chang’s Super Speciality Covid Hospital, presently 4 patients are under treatment in isolation. They are: a 28 year man of Adarshanagar, Ward no. 4 who had been to Delhi, a patient of Bangladesh but residing with a relative of Pundibari-Coochbehar admitted yesterday with a history of travel to Chennai for treatment, a 59 year old woman of Kholtajote of Khoribari suffering from cancer (her husband is kept in an isolation quarantine facility) transferred from NBMCH and a girl of 8 suffering from leukemia is also admitted here.  
2 discharged: Fruit vendor of Dangipara- ward no. 6 and his 10 year old son were discharged and released today after testing negative to Covid-19.  They too were advised for 14 days’ home quarantine. 
The 40 year old insurance agent of Deshbandhupara-Babuparu of ward no. 27 was released a day before. So far 27 patients have recovered and released from Dr. Chang’s Covid-19 hospital.

DESUN (SARI)
In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital, there are 9 patients and other 3 are released after their swab test resulted to be negative to Covid-19 twice. They were under treatment for symptoms of Covid-19 like illness. 
3 of the 9 are in ICU of the hospital. 

NBMCH
Presently with symptoms similar to Covid, 5 patients are in the isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. 3 patients are admitted in Isolation ward-1, 2 patients in Isolation ward 2, (including the 32 year old Covid infected woman of Atal Tea garden of Naxalbari who delivered a baby girl yesterday).Her source of infection till now could not be ascertained.
Tomorrow, 59 yer old Covid infected cancer patient of Khoribari admitted here will be transferred from NBMCH to Dr. Chang's Covid hospital.


GTA

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 May 2020: 
1 patient of Darjeeling is admitted yesterday in DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital.

98 (yesterday 120) persons are in institutional and 3151 (yesterday 3356) area in home quarantine of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration. 
Institutional quarantine facilities:-
In ITI Upper Fagu of Gorubathan all 17 admitted are released.
In Batasia TB Hospital 10 persons are admitted. 
In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 5 persons, 3 released.
10 new are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong. 
At Pokhriabong PHC 1 is admitted. 
At Mirik College 32 are admitted, 4 are released. 
At Jamuni GTA Guest House, Pulbazar, 40 are admitted.
98  (yesterday 120) persons are now in 6 different institutional quarantines. 

With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is decreased from 2201 to 1949 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 1155 to 1202. 
Altogether there are 3151 (yesterday 3356) persons in home quarantine. Those who recently came from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19. Swab testing so far has tested negative of all the travelers.

STATE

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 27 May 2020: In the state 183 new cases (1 day before-193, 2 days before- 149) and 6 death (1 day before-5 , 2 days before-6) and 92  recovery (1 day before-72, 2 days before-75) is recorded today.

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 4192 (1 day before-4009, 2 days before-3816) while active cases is 2325 (1 day before-2240, 2 days before-2124) and death toll till now is 217 (1 day before-211, 2 days before-206).

There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 1578 (1 day before-1486, days before-1414) are released after recovery. Recovery rate is 37.64%

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 33, ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 9236 (1 day before-9228, 2 days before--9225) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 166513 (1 day before-157277, 2 days before-148049) till now since day 1.   

Today 105465 persons (1 day before-103564, 2 days before- 102890) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 186707 persons (1 day before-183040, 2 days before-178108) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance.

Number of people released from home quarantine was 81242 (1 day before-79476, 2 days before-75218).

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are   18121 persons (1 day before-18146, 2 days before-17171) and so far from these centres 44075 persons (1 day before-42202, 2 days before-40790) were released in the past.
