Ambulance driver carrying vaccine tested positive
KalimNews, 18 May 2020, Kalimpong: An ambulance driver who brought vaccines for children from Kolkata to Alipurduar tested Covid-19 positive.
The driver on May had brought vaccines for Alipurduar district hospital in the government ambulance.
On his arrival his swab test was done as a precautionary measure as he came from a Red zone and his test result came to be positive and the information is sent to the state health department.
All the contacts including staff, nurse, Anganvadi staff of the driver in the Alipurduar hospital are kept in quarantine centre. His other contacts on his way and at Kolkata is also being investigated by the state government.
As of today 4 persons of Alipurduar (actually only 2 of Alipurduar and 2 of Coochbehar) had tested positive to Covid -19. All the four had been to AIIMS for the treatment of one of their relative. During the lock down period, they returned to Alipurduar in an ambulance from Delhi and were quarantined after police intervened them. Later they tested positive and are under treatment at Covid hospitalin Siliguri.
