9 more of NB found infected... 1 more Covid patient of Siliguri reported.. In GTA area 109 (yesterday 121) people in institutional and 2957 (yesterday 2748) in home quarantine.... In the state- 6 death and 149 new cases

1 patient of Siliguri in Kolkata: A resident of Shaktigarh Ward no 31 has  tested positive to Covid-19 and is admitted in a Command hospital at Kolkata.
Sources said that the patient was ailing and was admitted in the Command hospital at Kolkata on 14 May. His son returned back to Siliguri after his admission on 16 May. On the 16th May he  tested negative to Covid-19. Accordingly he had an operation and again swab test was done after the operation and this time he tested positive. And now he was in isolation of the hospital and the hospital authority following the protocol informed the health workers of Darjeeling. 
It is come to know that a health worker of Siliguri received a message from Kolkata that a Covid 19 positive patient admitted in Command hospital at Kolkata belongs to Shaktigarh of Siliguri and his primary contacts are to be traced out. 
Local administrative officials and workers had a tough time to locate his residence, finally it was discovered and all the contacts including the son and the ambulance driver are traced and swab samples of the later two are taken for RT-PCR test and sent to VRDL at NBMCH.

VRDL of NBMCH reported that 9 patients tested positive to Covid-19. They are -1 lady patient of Khoribari admitted in NBMCH (returned from Mumbai Cancer hospital and later admitted in quarantine centre then admitted to NBMCH in Isolation), 1 lady of Diana Tea Estate and will be transferred to Jalpaiguri Super Speciality hospital, 1 of Pundibari, Coochbehar (newly infected) and 6 of Islampur tested positive (they are migrant labourers within 18-22 years), their details is awaited.

NORTH BENGAL 

Covid hospital

In Dr. Chang’s Super Speciality Covid Hospital, presently 5 patients are under treatment in isolation. They are: a 40 year old insurance agent of Deshbandhupara-Babuparu of ward no. 27;  a 48 yr old fruit vendor of Dangipara -ward no. 6 and his 10 year old son, a 28 year man of Adarshanagar, Ward no. 4 who had been to Delhi and a patient of Malda.

In North Bengal 67 Covid patients are presently admitted in the hospital: During the last 24 hours, an alarming number of 67 new case of Covid infected patients is recorded from North Bengal. 34 from Uttar Dinajpur, 31 from Malda, and 1 from Coochbehar and 1 from Darjeeling is recorded. It is feared that with the return of the labourers, the number of positive patients may increase more in the next few days.  

DESUN (SARI)

In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital, there are 14 patients under treatment for symptoms of Covid-19 like illness. 6 of them tested negative to Covid-19 and they are ready to be released. 

There is 1 patient each from Darjeeling and Kalimpong district. 

NBMCH

Presently 5 patients with symptoms similar to Covid are in the isolation wards of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Of these, 2 patients are from Pundibari and Phansidewa and are admitted in the Isolation ward-1.

Other two are patients in the isolation ward of maternity department and one patient in the Isolation ward-2 of the surgical department, this patient is a cancer patient. 

GTA 
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 25 May 2020: 109 (yesterday 121) persons are in institutional and 2957 (yesterday 2748) in home quarantine. 

Institutional quarantine facilities:- 
In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 7 persons. 
19 persons are admitted at Batasia TB centre. 
14 are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong. 
At Pokhriabong PHC 1 is admitted and 18 are released. 
At Mirik College, 30 are admitted. 
At Jamuni GTA Guest House, Pulbazar, 38 are admitted. 
109 (yesterday 121) persons are now in 6 different institutional quarantines. 
With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 1726 to 1862 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 1022 to1095. Altogether there are 2957 (yesterday 2748) persons are in home quarantine. 
Those who recently came from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19. Swab testing so far has tested negative of all the travelers.

STATE 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 25 May 2020: In the state new cases 149 (1 day before-208 , 2 days before- 127) and 6 death (1 day before-3 , 2 days before-4) and 75 recovery (1 day before-58, 2 days before-60) is recorded today. 

The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 3816 (1 day before-3667, 2 days before-3459) while active cases is 2124 (1 day before-2057, 2 days before-1909) and death toll till now is 206 (1 day before-200, 2 days before-197).

There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 1414 (1 day before-1339, days before-1281) are released after recovery. 

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 33, ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 9225 (1 day before-9216, 2 days before--9009) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 148049 (1 day before-138824, 2 days before-129608) till now since day 1.    

Today 102890 persons (1 day before-102349, 2 days before- 102268) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 178108 persons (1 day before-176957, 2 days before-17635) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance. 

Number of people released from home quarantine was 75218 (1 day before-74608, 2 days before-74088). 

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are   17171 persons (1 day before-16265, 2 days before-15193) and so far from these centres 40790 persons (1 day before-39538, 2 days before-38089) were released in the past. 

Currently in the state there are 69 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
