286 paramilitary forces tests positve.. COVID-19 infects 548 doctors, nurses, paramedics .... schools reopened in Wuhan..

  • Indias's death rate and recovery rate due to Covid-19 are 3.42% and 28.71% respectively.
  • West Bengal's death rate is 4.94% and recovery rate is 18.2%
  • The central paramilitary forces had reported total 286 positive cases from across the country till Tuesday evening and maximum of these are now from the BSF (over 150), while 146 of the infected personnel are from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), 45 from the ITBP, 15 from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and 13 cases are from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
  • All contacts of the forces are under treatment. All contacts are traced and are in quarantines, none is serious.

  • Nepal extends lockdown till May 18, suspends cross-border movement until May 31.

  • The first of more than 60 flights repatriating thousands of Indians stranded overseas by the coronavirus lockdown is to arrive home on Thursday. Air India, the country's national airline, will carry out the mission and fly planes to the US, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Qatar and Malaysia, among other countries. The Indian mission in the UAE alone has received 197,000 applications to be repatriated so far. The crew will be in protective gear, while all passengers will have to wear masks and follow social distancing norms and other health protocols. Anyone who shows symptoms during the flight will be moved to an isolation zone in the aircraft. The passengers will also be subject to extensive screening when they return, and will then be quarantined for at least 14 days. States are preparing quarantine beds in hospitals and temporary care homes.
