
142 new cases, total Covid cases in Bengal rises to 3103

The new cases are from 12 districts namely West Burdwan, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, West Midnapore, Birbhum, Nadia, Makia, North Dinajpur and Darjeeling.
Three persons have died due to Corona in the last 24 hours from North 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly.The total death toll due to Corona in the state is 181.
Sixty two people have been discharged from hospitals and thus the number of cured people is 1136.
Currently there are 1714 active cases in the state.
In Kolkata, 69 people were tested Corona positive since yesterday taking the total number of cases in the city to 1502. The single day sample tested was 8720 and till now 1,11,002 samples were tested. Treatment is free for all patients in all government hospitals and state government has requisitioned private hospitals as COVID hospitals. The government reimburses these hospitals at already notified rates. Meanwhile, a Cabinet Committee has been set up for better management of the COVID-19 crisis, which is chaired by Amit Mitra and co-chaired by Partha Chatterjee. Government has notified Medical College and Hospital as a full-fledged tertiary level COVID Hospital and KPC Medical College & Hospital as the 69th dedicated COVID Hospital in the state for specialized COVID treatment.
