KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 May 2020: A total of 5 Covid patients are reported from Siliguri but one is released that tally 4.

NORTH BENGAL 
Covid hospital
New case: A 28 year man of Adarshanagar, Ward no. 4 of Siliguri is found to be Covid positive. Today he was admitted at Dr. Chang’s Covid hospital. 
On 15 May, he had returned from Delhi to his home but his neighbours and his father did not allow him to enter his home. So he took refuge to ward no 1 at Dharamnagar of Kullipara in his sister’s house. While there, he developed some Covid-19 symptoms and was admitted at Sadar hospital, his Covid test was done there. His test result was out today and found to be positive to Covid-19. 8 members of his family and 20 other contacts are admitted in the isolation facility for quarantine. His other contacts are also being traced out.   

Covid Patient tested negative and released: A 32 year old of Patiramjote tested negative twice and was released tonight. His wife and son are also tested but their result is yet to be out, they had tested negative once.

Other patients are, a 40 year old insurance agent of Deshbandhupara-Babuparu ward no. 27;  a 48 yr old fruit vendor of Dangipara ward no. 6 and his 10 year old son; 1 doctor of NBMCH (resident of Kolkata); 1 driver of Chennai and 1 patients of Alipurduar related to the kidney patient. These two have tested negative for the first time.  

DESUN (SARI)
In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital, there are 12 patients under treatment for symptoms of Covid- 19 like illness. 2 of these 12 are in the ICU in serious condition with respiratory difficulties. Swab test of 7 is already done.
1 patient of Darjeeling is released today while 1 each patient from Darjeeling and Kalimpong district is admitted today. 

NBMCH
Presently there are 4 patients in the Isolation ward of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Of them 2 are the wife and son of the patient of Matigara who tested negative once and waiting for another’s test done today. There are 3 in the Isolation ward of maternity department and 1 child of Panjipara in serious condition in the RICU(Respiratory) ward. There are 5 new patients in the isolation ward of surgical department.


GTA
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 May 2020:  93 (yesterday 157) persons are in institutional and 2644 (yesterday 2490) of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration area in home quarantine. 
Institutional quarantine facilities:-
In DISHA of Kalimpong, all 38 released.
In Marwari Bhawan, Kalimpong , all 10 released.
In ITI Upper Fagu, Gorubathan, 5 are there and 29 are released. 
In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 5 persons.
25 persons are admitted at Batasia TB centre, 
18 are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong. 
At Pokhriabong PHC 14 are admitted. 
At Mirik College, 21 are admitted. (Contacts of an Assam's Covid 19 patient who came to Saureni of Mirik at her parents home and had returned to her husband's home at Jorhat of Assam )
93 (yesterday 157) patients are now in 6 different institutional quarantines. 

With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 1508 to 1651 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 982 to 993
Altogether there are   (yesterday 2490) persons are in home quarantine. Those who recently came from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19. Swab testing so far has tested negative of all the travellers.

STATE 
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 23 May 2020: In the state new cases  127 (1 day before-135 , 2 days before- 94) and 4 death (1 day before-6 , 2 days before-6) and 60 recovery (1 day before-28, 2 days before-57) is recorded today. The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 3459 (1 day before- 3332, 2 days before-3197) while active cases is 1909 (1 day before-1846, 2 days before-1745) and death toll till now is 197 (1 day before-193, 2 days before-187).
There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 1281 (1 day before-1221, days before-11932) are released after recovery. 
The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 33, ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 9009 (1 day before-5355, 2 days before--4242) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 129608 (1 day before-120599, 2 days before-115244) till now since day 1.    

Today 102268 persons (1 day before-98456, 2 days before- 96548) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 176356 persons (1 day before-171954, 2 days before-169526) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance. 
Number of people released from home quarantine was 74088 (1 day before-73498, 2 days before-77978). 
Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 15193 persons (1 day before-14614, 2 days before-13044) and so far from these centres 38089 persons (1 day before-36651, 2 days before-35899) were released in the past. 
Currently in the state there are 69 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 53 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
