1 more coronavirus case in Siliguri, patient’s son also tests positive.....GTA-103 persons in institutional and 1805 in home quarantine… State -12482 in institutional and 86952 in home quarantine… states recovery rate 36.27%

DAILY REPORT 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 May 2020: 10 year son of a Covid 19 patient of Siliguri is found infected with Covid-19 virus today. It is the tenth case of Darjeeling district. Yesterday, his father, a fruit vendor tested positive and was admitted at Dr. Chang's Superspeciality Covid-19 hospital. His family members were moved to a quarantine centre at Khoribari. Swab sample tests of all the 5 members were done for coronavirus infection and the patient's 10 year son was found to be positive. Results of other four members were found to be negative. The boy will be admitted at Dr. Chang's hospital tonight.

NORTH BENGAL 

SARI

In DESUN severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) Hospital, as of today, 14 patients admitted are under treatment. 

No patient of GTA area is admitted today.

COVID-19 HOSPITAL

8 Covid-19 patients are admitted at Dr. Chang’s Super specialty Covid-19 Hospital. A patient of Barobhisa of Alipurduar district and a patient of Malda has tested negative thrice are preparing for their release.

2 Covid -19 asymptomatic patients of Siliguri admitted yesterday are stable. 

40 year old insurance agent, one of the patient of Deshbandhupara-Babuparu ward no. 27 had a travel history to Kolkata and Guwahati. 

The other patient, 48 yr old fruit vendor of Dangipara ward no. 6 had been to Bihar for a funeral. Both after their return from Kolkata and Bihar respectively were screened and their swab test done. They were directed to undergo home quarantine. 

Yesterday, their test report alarmed the authority and they were admitted to Dr. Chang's Covid hospital. Their residential area is barricaded and sanitized. 

Today, 5 family members of the fruit vendor are sent to institutional quarantine in Khoribari. Testing of swab samples of the neighbours of the fruit vendor is also made today. It is told that the insurance agent is a resident of Kolkata and use to stay alone and was in self isolation quarantine and had no contact with others.

Of the 8, 2 Covid-19 positive patients are of Alipurduar while others are 1 doctor of NBMCH (resident of Kolkata), and 1 driver of Chennai. 

NBMCH

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 May 2020:  In view of the pendemic Covid-19, patients with symptoms similar to Covid-19, admitted in North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) are usually transferred to isolation ward. These patients after testing negative to Covid-19 tests are again transferred from isolation ward to their respective wards.

Presently there is 1 patient of Matigara in the Isolation ward -1 and 1 patient in the surgical Isolation ward. A female patient of Takdah / Mungpoo (Darjeeling district) is admitted in the gynecological Isolation ward of NBMCH. All of the above patients have symptoms of respiratory problem similar to Covid-19 and their test result is awaited. Their swab test is done and are waiting for the result.

Presently, 44 Covod-19 patients of Malda are under treatment.

GTA 

103 persons are in institutional and 1805 in home quarantine of the GTA area. 

In DISHA of Kalimpong, 14 admitted.

In ITI Upper Fagu, Gorubathan, 48 are admitted (29 are released today after their swab sample tested negative).

In Mungpoo ITI at Takdah 3 persons.

23 persons are admitted at Batasia TB centre, 

14 are admitted in Old Railway Hospital of Kurseong. 

At Pokhriabong PHC 16 are admitted. 

103 (yesterday 136) patients are now in 6 different institutional quarantines. 

With the home coming of students and other people from other states, the number of people in home quarantine at their residence in the district of Darjeeling is increased from 1011 to 1080 while in Kalimpong district it is increased from 676 to 725. 

Altogether there are 1805 (yesterday 1687) persons are in home quarantine. Those who recently came by train from different states are now kept in the institutional quarantines till their swab test result confirms their negative to Covid-19. Swab testing is started since today.

STATE 

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 19 May 2020: In the state 136 new cases (1 day before-148, 2 days before- 67) and 6 death (1 day before-6, 2 days before-6) and 68 recovery (1 day before-47, 2 days before-67) is recorded today. The total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in West Bengal is 2961 (1 day before-2825, 2 days before-2677) while active cases is 1637 (1 day before-1575, 2 days before-1480) and death toll till now is 178 (1 day before-172, 2 days before-166).

There is 72 death due to Co-morbidity while 1006 (1 day before-959, 2 days before-892) are released after recovery. 

The testing of swab samples for Covid-19 in 23 ICMR testing labs is being done at a very good rate and today 8712 (1 day before7614, 2 days before--8668) samples within 24 hour were tested that tally 102282 (1 day before-93570, 2 days before-85956) till now since day 1.    

Today 86952 persons (1 day before-77235, 2 days before-57184) are currently under home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance and total 158841 persons (1 day before-148474, 2 days before-127893) were in the home quarantine/ observation/ surveillance. 

Number of people released from home quarantine was 71889 (1 day before-71239, 2 days before-70709). 

Currently in the 582 institutional government quarantine centres there are 12482 persons (1 day before-11571, 2 days before-10561) and so far from these centres 32112 persons (1 day before-29615, 2 days before-27740) were released in the past. 

Currently in the state there are 68 Hospitals dedicated for treating COVID-19, 16 Government Covid hospitals and 52 Private Covid-19 hospitals.
