West Bengal ICSE, ISC exams ‘not cancelled’ The ICSE and ISC exams that were to be held between March 19 and 31 have been postponed

Students appear for ICSE exam last year Vivek Chhetri, TT, 3.04.20, Darjeeling: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has neither cancelled the remaining ICSE and ISC papers nor announced new exam dates, a council official said on Thursday.

A statement released by the CISCE board said: “It is hereby clarified that CISCE has NOT CANCELLED the remaining ICSE and ISC papers, nor released any revised schedule for the examinations. For all genuine updates related to the examinations, students and parents are advised to visit the official website of the council www.cisce.org.”

The ICSE and ISC exams that were to be held between March 19 and 31 have been postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Captain P.M. Pradhan, a member of the standing committee of the CISCE, said: “Since Wednesday morning, parents have been calling up various schools enquiring about certain messages being circulated on social media.”

The CISCE has issued an “urgent” notice regarding false information being circulated on social media and said the board had not cancelled the remaining ICSE and ISC papers.

The fake notices have been printed on a CISCE letterhead and bear the signature of Gerry Arathoon, the board’s chief executive and secretary.
