2 Covid 19 patient of Darjeeling released- number rose in the state to 116 with 13 new cases
KalimNews, 10 April 2020, Kalimpong: 2 Covid 19 patients of Darjeeling district are released after testing negative. Both are from Darjeeling district and that includes a nurse of NBMCH from Tindharia who was under treatment at the Isolation centre at Chang’s Superspeciality Hospital. Assistant superintendent of NBMCH who also tested negative in the second test was discharged from the isolation ward. Two more persons are admitted.
Following the protocol mentioned by the WHO, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare , government and considering various social and law and order situation, there is delay in disclosing various facts to the patient, public and the media, as such data issued is not tallying one another, a source clarified.
4 immediate relatives (who tested negative in the second test) of the deceased patient of Kalimpong are in Isolation centre/Covid 19 hospital in Jalpaiguri. Other 6 persons are at Covid 19 hospital of Dr. Chang's Super specialty Hospital in Siliguri.
37 more persons of Darjeeling district have completed quarantine period. They were in self quarantine and there are still 199 persons. Yesterday 236 persons were in self quarantine and day before yesterday there were 312 persons in self quarantine.
There are 46 persons of Kalimpong in quarantine centres at Disha Centre and Marwari Bhawan of Kalimpong.
The number of active Covid-19 cases in the state of West Bengal rose to 116 with 13 new cases. Of these 116 patients, identity of 69 have already been ascertained while district of the 47 Covid 19 positive persons to which they belong is yet to be ascertained.As of today at present 393 persons are admitted in hospital isolation. So far, 5 persons expired due to Covid-19.
An official release of the West Bengal Health and family welfare department on Covid-19 states that 2095 samples are tested for Covid-19 in the state and 44474 persons are under home observation/surveillance and 11024 persons have completed surveillance.
1840 persons have been admitted under hospital isolation and 1447 persons have been discharged from hospital isolation after completing quarantine and testing negative. In the state there are 582 Institutional Quarantine Centres in which 10468 persons are kept in Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative) and so far 5638 persons have been released from Institutional Quarantine (Cumulative).
