12 Arrest in Darjeeling.. Police patrolling in Kalimpong:

KalimNews, 19 April 2020, Kalimpong: Darjeeling police has implemented the lockdown stringently in the district.Millenium post reported that in Darjeeling, 12 persons were arrested which include 5 ladies. They were arrested for violating the lockdown.

Millenium post report adds that for selling liquor during the lockdown period 2 persons were arrested from the Druk Bar in Darjeeling.

Kalimpong police with Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) were seen in the town patrolling.

S Ponnambalam, the newly appointed Darjeeling District Magistrate along with Trupurari Atharv, the Commissioner of Police, Siliguri Metropolitan Police visited the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital on Saturday.

In Siliguri, 213 persons were arrested and 79 bikes and cars seized. The highest arrest with 123 arrest was made in Pradhannagar police station, Siliguri women's PS -24, Matigara 39 arrests with 16 cases, Bagdogra PS with 19 arrest with 3 cases and Siliguri Junction PS with 12 arrests.
