COVID-19: 21-Day Nationwide Lockdown, Rs 15,000 Cr Allotted

‘Jaan Hai toh Jahan Hai’: PM Announces 21-Day Nationwide LockdownThe Quint, 24 March 2020: Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday, 24 March, announced a nationwide lockdown starting midnight on 25 March for 21 days to curb the spread of COVID-19.
In his address, PM Modi announced that Rs 15,000 crore have been allotted for coronavirus testing facilities, PPEs, ICUs, ventilators and training medical workers.

Earlier, Kerala and Maharastra reported 107 and 105 positive cases respectively, the highest in the country.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday reported that the total number of positive cases in India has risen to 519, with 470 active cases.

The Civil Aviation Ministry on Monday announced that domestic commercial airlines shall cease operations from 24 March midnight till 31 March.
