KalimNews: Current Meteorological Conditions: 
Cyclonic Storm FANI weakened into a Deep Depression and lay centered over Bangladesh, 30 km East-NE of Krishnanager (West Bengal) at 0830 IST of 4th May.
Earlier  at 05. 30 hrs IST of 04th May, 2019 it lay centred over Gangetic West Bengal near latitude 23.1 °N and longitude 88.2 °E, about 60 km north of Kolkata.
It is very likely to continue to move north - northeastwards and weaken further during next 06 hours. It is very likely to move further north - northeastwards and emerges into Bangladesh on 4th May around noon as a Deep Depression with wind speed 50 - 60 Kmph gusting to 70 kmph.
FANI over Gangetic West Bengal moved further north-northeastwards with a speed of about 30kmph in last six hours, weakened into a Cyclonic Storm and lay centred at 0530 hrs IST of 04th May, 2019 over Gangetic West Bengal near latitude 23.1°N and longitude 88.2°E, about 120km north-northeast of Medinipur and 60km northwest of Kolkata (West Bengal).It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards,weaken further into a deep depression and emerge into Bangladesh with wind speed 50-60 Kmph gusting to 70 Kmph by noon of today, the 4th May 201

WARNING: (i) Heavy rainfall warning: 
 04.05.19 Light to moderate rainfall at many places over the districts of Gangetic West Bengal with heavy falls at isolated places over Nadia and Murshidabad districts on 4 th May. 
 Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy falls at isolated places over Sub - Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 4th May .  
(ii) Wind warning : 0 4.05.2019 : Squally wind speed 4 0 - 5 0 kmph gusting to 60 kmph i s likely over districts of South Bengal during morning to forenoon of 4th May .
(iii) Sea condition: The sea condition is rough to very rough along and off West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh Coast s during subsequent 1 2 hours.  
(iv) Fishermen Warning: For West Bengal coast: The fishermen are advised not to venture into the deep sea along and off West Bengal and Odisha coast till evening of 4th May 2019. 
(v ) Port Warning: Great Danger Signal No. 9 replaced by Local Cautionary Signal - III at Hooghly port.

Saturday 04 May : 1) Heavy to very heavy rain with squally wind & 60 kmph very likely at one or two places over Kolkata, E & W Midnapur, Jhargram, N & S 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly Purulia, Bankura, Birbhum, Nadia, Murshidabad, E & W Burdwan districts of GWB, Odisha. 2) Heavy rain likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm 'FANI' (pronounced as 'FONI') over Gangetic West Bengal moved further north­northeastwards with a speed of about 29 kmph in last 06 hours, weakened into a Cyclonic Storm and lay centred at 0530 hours IST of 4th May, 2019 over Gangetic West Bengal near Latitude 23.1°N and Longitude 88.2°E, about 120 km north­northeast of Midnapore and 60 km northwest of Kolkata (West Bengal)
It is very likely to continue to move north ­north eastwards and weaken further into a Deep Depression during next 06 hours. It is very likely to move further north ­northeastwards and emerge into Bangladesh on 04th May, 2019 by noon and further weaken into a Depression. The trough from this system to north Rajasthan across Madhya Pradesh and extending upto 1.5 km above mean sealevel has become less marked. The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir now lies over Jammu & Kashmir and neighbourhood at 3.1 km above mean sea level with a trough aloft with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level now runs roughly along Long 75°E to the north of Lat 30°N. The cyclonic circulation over central Assam & neighbourhood extending upto 0.9 km above mean sea level has become less marked. A cyclonic circulation lies over south Rajasthan & adjoining Gujarat and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level.
