Madhyamik results in last week of May In 2018, the results were declared on June 6

This year, 10,64,740 examinees appeared for the Madhyamik exam.TT, 21 April 2019: The results of the 2019 Madhyamik examination will be declared in the fourth week of May, the president of the state secondary board said on Saturday.

“The evaluation of the answer scripts is complete. But the board is still not in a position to announce the exact date of declaring the results,” board president Kalyanmoy Ganguly said.

Marks of all the examinees have reached the board, a source said.

The board has started the process of re-checking the papers in which the students have scored “very high or very low” marks compared with other papers.

For example, a student might have scored 70 to 90 per cent marks in six out of the seven subjects and very low marks or failed in one subject. It could also be the other way round. A student might have failed in six subjects and scored very high marks in one particular subject. In several thousand papers students score zeros. All those will be re-examined, the board said.

The system of re-checking the marks was introduced by the board a few years ago to ensure fairness.

“We are now identifying all the discrepancies, mismatching and abnormal and anomalous markings. The process of printing of the mark sheets will start once we complete the re-checking of the marks and re-examination of the papers,” a board official said.

It is mandatory for the board to publish the results within 90 days of the completion of the exams, which was on February 22 this year.

In 2018, the results were declared on June 6.

“The results will be declared within the targeted date. The evaluation has not been affected due to the Lok Sabha polls,” Ganguly said.

This year, 10,64,740 examinees appeared for the exam.
