Bengal’s Black Law Conspires To Kill Gurung, God Saves Him

Wepen, April 5, 2019: Gurung in a video clip sent from an undisclosed location claimed that there was a conspiracy hatched to kill him (encounter). “There is God and God saved me yesterday,” stated Gurung.

Narrating the events of the day and how he tried to make it to Bagdogra from Delhi, Gurung stated that thousands of his supporters had come from the Hills – Darjeeling, Kurseong, Kalimpong, Mirik, Terai, Dooars- East,West and Mid Dooars to meet him.

“However barricades were put up everywhere including Kurseong, Kalimpong, Dooars and Highway belts so that they could not reach Bagdogra. Bengal’s black law did not allow my supporters to meet me or see me,” stated Gurung who had failed to turn up at Bagdogra from Delhi on Thursday.

In the video Gurung then goes on to talk of a conspiracy hatched by the West Bengal Government to slap fresh cases on him. Gurung claimed that Tshering Dahal was planted with black flags so that there would be clashes and he would be implicated and put behind bars.

Taking it a step further, Gurung stated, “On the way to the Airport in Delhi I was getting constant feedback from Bagdogra. I took the full report. Our intellectuals from inside the Government were also keeping me posted. 5000 vehicles of our supporters were stopped on the Bihar Highway. There were 30,000 supporters on the Bihar Highway alone.”

Weighing all this people from all over started calling him stating that the conspiracy hatched by Bengal could be fatal, claimed Gurung. “If you are alive, the community will be alive, they stated from all over. It is better you don’t come. If you are not alive, the future of the Gorkhas will not be alive too, they pleaded. I then carefully weighed the situation. It was clear that there would be clashes and they would then kill me in an encounter. God is there. God saved me yesterday. He stopped me from coming to Bagdogra. At 1pm we returned from the Delhi Airport followed by the IB and DIB. We had to dodge them. Supporters please don’t feel sad. Now the next time I will strengthen all the legalities and then meet you,” was Gurung’s message to his supporters.

Incidentally Bimal Gurung, President, Gorkha Janmukti Morcha had launched an agitation in 2017 that had culminated in a 105 day bandh. He had then been implicated in multiple cases under different sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). He and his close confidants have been absconding since then.
