55-yr-old found dead near her residence in Siliguri

55-yr-old found dead near   her residence  in SiliguriAmitava Banerjee | MP | 24 April 2019 | Darjeeling: The body of an elderly woman was recovered from Simulguri at Samarnagar in Siliguri on Wednesday morning. 
The face of the deceased had been disfigured and the woman was found naked. A cloth was wrapped around her neck. 
The deceased was 55-year-old. Local residents informed the police. The woman's family members arrived at the spot. 
The woman used to live with her daughter and grandchildren. Her husband has passed away a few years ago. 
On Tuesday night, two men identified as Kartik Oraon and Laddu, had come to her house. She left her home with them and following that she did not return home. Her body was found near her house. 
Police recovered an empty liquor bottle and plastic glasses near the spot. Kartik and Laddu. are absconding since Wednesday morning. 
"My mother said that she was going to a nearby shop with them. When she did not return we searched for her in the neighbourhood. In the morning, we received news that her body had been found in a pool of blood," said the daughter of the deceased. 
The body was recovered by the police and sent for post-mortem. Police have launched a man hunt for the two absconding men. 
Family members of the absconders said they had returned home in an inebriated state on Tuesday night. Both of them are truck drivers by profession. 
Cops are investigating the case.
