Tamang lauds SC order, CM move to lift dharna

SNS, 5 February 2019, DARJEELING: The Gorkha JanMukti Morcha camp led by Binoy Tamang to day welcomed the Supreme Court's order to the CBI as a moral victory for the country and "especially the Third Front alliance.'
"The GJM respects the judiciary and we are grateful and obliged." Mr Tamang said in a statement issued here to day.
"Today, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N Chandrababu Naidu, president Telugu Desam Party RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Shri Binoy Tamang, President Gorkha Janmukti Morcha, along with Shri Amar Singh Rai, MLA Darjeeling and Dr Rohit Sharma addressed the Dharna in Kolkata," he said.
"I kept my address in Nepali and perhaps this is the first time that Nepali was used as a language for a political meeting in Kolkata," he added.
The Morcha delegation led by Mr Tamang and Anit Thapa also met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the dharna site.
'Today, the GJM joined a Jana- andolan as we are part of the third party alliance led by Ms Mamata Banerjee," the statement said, adding, "We support the slogan of "Modi hatao, Desh bachao" as we have to protect the federal structure."
The Morcha further welcomed the decision of Miss Banerjee to call off the dharna and take the fight against the BJP to Delhi.
Mr Tamang said that he, along with Miss Banerjee will lay the foundation stone tor the Gorkha Bhawan in Saket in Delhi, a project worth Rs 32 crore on 13 February.
The Morcha will also attend the Third Front alliance meeting against the BJP' in Delhi on 14 February. "I, along with Shri Amar Singh Rai, MLA Darjeeling, and Shri Sanchabir Subba, GTA member will also attend the Bengal Business Meet in Kolkata on 8 and 9 February," Mr Tamang said.
