Hosted by the Eastern Hi- malaya Travel & Tour Operators Association (EHTTOA) and supported by the state tourism department, the event will continue for three days at Club Montana Vista in Uttarayon here. "Over 100 buyers, or those who send tourists to our state, have joined BTM. During the event, they will interact with those who are associated with the travel trade in Bengal. They will be briefed about the new destinations which have come up in the state," said Debasis Moitra, the president of EHTTOA.
According to him, it is necessary those working in travel industry of the country and in adjoining countries like Nepal and Bhutan should know about these developments.
At the event, several tour operators, transporters and hotel groups who work in Bengal have put up stalls, displaying different tourism products.
"We will also get feedback from buyers as what more is necessary to augment the tourist inflow in Bengal. Further, we will hold talks to promote an integrated circuit that can take tourists beyond the international borders to Nepal and Bhutan," said Sandipan Ghosh, secretary, EHTTOA..
