TT, 22 January 2019, Siliguri: Around 100 delegates will attend the fourth edition of Bengal Travel Mart in Siliguri next month, organisers said here on Tuesday.

The largest event organised in the state to promote Bengal as a destination of domestic and international tourists will be inaugurated at a club here on February 5 and will continue till February 7.

"We have got confirmation from tourism departments in Gujarat, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and West Bengal regarding their participation in the fair. Around 100 buyers, or people who send tourists to our state, will attend the event to learn more about Bengal and its destinations. Around 100 stalls will be set up at the pavilion where information about different destinations, accommodations and facilities available at those places would be displayed," said Sandipan Ghosh, the general secretary of the Eastern Himalaya Travel & Tour Operators' Association.

In the course of the event, those who are associated with travel trade in different parts of India and in the neighbouring countries like Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh will have the opportunity to interact with tourism stakeholders.

"Several B2B (business to business) meets would be held where our members will elaborate on the destinations before national and international delegates. These meetings would encourage them to send more tourists. The new destinations and circuits which have come up in the past few years are an added advantage," said Debasish Maitra, the president of the EHTTOA..
