KalimNews, Kalimpong: A 10 member Indian delegation team participated in the pre Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa(BRICS) Summit Conference held in Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa from 4-6 July 2018. Mahemdra P.Lama, Prof of South Asian Economics of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi was one of the ten member Indian delegation.
In the Summit conference organised by the South African National School of government, South African Human Sciences Research Council and Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee Ms Ndileka Mandela, the granddaughter of the globally respected anti-apartheid Hero and the first President of democratic South Africa Late Nelson Mandela also participated.
Ms Ndileka is the Director of Mandela Foundation, and delegates from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa(BRICS) participated in the meeting mainly focussing on Global Governance.
The next 5 member 10th BRICS Summit will be held in the same venue in Johannesburg in South Africa from 25-27 July 2018. In the Summit Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, President of Brazil Michel Temer, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of China Xi Jinping and President of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa will participate.
