During House budget session, JAP plans Delhi demo

SNS, KALIMPONG, 24 JANUARY 2018: The Jan Andolan Party is all ready to go to Delhi, where party leaders an d supporters plan to hold demonstrations for 10 days in a row and demand a separate state of Gorkhaland during the budget session of the parliament that begins on 29 January The session will last till 9 February.
Around 200 JAP, cadres will be leaving for the capital city on 27 January, while the plans to begin their demonstrations on 30 January.
'We have hopes this time, as last time, we had met 15 MPs from the Telangana Rashtriya Samity, 42 MPs of the Congress, and MPs from different national parties. We are meeting them again, as the Darjeeling MP will not raise our demand in parliament, said Naresh Rai, the spokesperson for the party's youth wing.
"JAP firmly believes that Telangana and the Congress party will definitely raise the topic that will benefit crores of Gorkhas," he added.
The JAP will also mark its foundation day on 27 January at the Baghajatin Park in Siliguri. Party leaders said that the administration in Kalimpong has denied them permission to hold party Functions.
We had sought permission with the administration about the meeting long time ago, but they have not responded so far. The administration is denying permission to celebrate the foundation day of a registered party, registered with the Election Commission of India. This shows that democracy has been trampled upon by the state government," Mr Rai said.
While the party claimed that its only agenda is a separate state, it said it will keep holding Delhi-centric programmes for the same.
