EOI, SILIGURI, Sep 2017: Police on Tuesday morning recovered handmade explosive materials from the house of Trinamool Congress councillor Punam Biswa of Mirik municipality.
Police CID officials suspects some miscreants might have kept the explosive to create violence and fear.
Police found the explosive at the resident of Biswa at Mirik Bazar and later informed CID who rushed to the spot from Siliguri to investigate the matter.
During the preliminary investigation CID officials informed that the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was wrapped in a paper.
L B Rai, Trinamool Congress councillor of Mirik municipality said, “We can’t tolerate these types of threat, we believe in peace not in explosions of bombs.”
