Ex GTA member started hunger strike inside Siliguri Jail
Prashant Acharya, EOI, SILIGURI, 5 Sep 2017: Ex Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) member Champa Bivar has started hunger strike inside Siliguri Jail.
According to the sources Bivar has stopped taking food demanding release of arrested Gorkhaland supporters.
The news spread like wild fire in various news portals and social media in Siliguri but no official confirmation has been released from police or either Jail authorities.
Bivar who was handpicked by Morcha supremo Bimal Gurung during 2012 GTA election won election and took charge of Sabhasad of Sukna-Panighatta constituency.
Vivar who is also a teacher of Bal Vikas Center of Lohagarh and Panighatta under Satya Sai Baba religious foundation was arrested by Siliguri Police while she was teaching students at Panighatta on 29th August.
She was told that she was taken for interrogation and she will be released as soon as the interrogation gets over but arrested in and produced in Siliguri court on 2nd September.
