GJMM to go for alliance in civic polls

SNS, SILIGURI, 11 APRIL: Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) chief Bimal Gurung indicated that the party will not go for alliance with any political party in the ensuing civic body elections in the Hills.
"A section of BJP leaders are saying that the party would field candidates in the elections, however, the central leadership of the party would not approve it. It is decided that we will have electoral alliance with BJP for all the elections," said Mr Gurung on his arrival at Bagdogra airport today.
It is decided that we will have electoral alliance with BJP for all the elections, after attending a meeting of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in New Delhi.
Taking a dig at Mamata Banerjee, he said she acted as a Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GM) sabhasad not as a chief minister of a state.
"She is more like a GTA sabhasad because she frequently visits the Hills without any reason. The results of the elections will give a fitting reply".
