2 women from NE found dead

TT, New Delhi, March 31: Two women from Mizoram died of suspected drug overdose in south Delhi's Munirka early today, Delhi police said.

A preliminary probe revealed that the two women - Clara and Rakil - had partied last night at their friend Jenny's rented flat in Munirka. They were both in their twenties. "Around 8am today they were found unconscious and rushed to Safdarjung Hospital where they were declared brought dead," a senior police official said. He, however, ruled out any foul play. "We are awaiting the post mortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death."

Jenny, along with her male friend Liankhanmang, had taken the duo to hospital.

"Both the deceased visited Jenny's flat yesterday at 6pm and partied the whole night. Around 9pm, Jenny went to a call centre in Noida where she works. When she returned this morning, she found the door locked and no one responding," the official said.

She called up Liankhanmang who lived nearby. They broke open the door and found the girls unconscious. Clara had come to Delhi a year ago and worked with a private firm while Rakil, who works in Lucknow, came to Delhi on Wednesday evening to meet Clara. "We have informed their families in Aizawl and they are on their way here," another official said.
