
Venues being made ready for CM's five-day tour to north Bengal which begins from 27 March

: Three venues are being made ready in Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri district for the proposed meetings of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who is coming on a five-day tour to north Bengal from 27 March.
One major development expected during the proposed tour is the declaration of Mirik block as a sub-subdivision.
The administrative officials said arrangements were made at Uttarkanya, the branch secretariat and Rabindra Bhanu Mancha at North Bengal University (NBU) in Siliguri, while Sarajendra Deb Raikat Kala Kendra has been selected a venue for Jalpaiguri.
"The chief minister will hold meetings with the administrative officials of north Bengal districts including Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri and the newly-formed Kalimpong on 28 and 29 March. This will be first such comprehensive meeting in north Bengal following the elevation, of Kalimpong to a district. However, the venue has not been finalised. Therefore a rangements are being made at three locations," said a senior government official.
The additional director general of police and inspector general of police, North Bengal, N Ramesh Babu, SMP commissioner CS Lepcha visited Rabindra Bhanu Mancha today.
