
SSB helps in freeing trafficked persons in Nepal
SNS, SILIGURI, 27 Dec 2016: Sashastra Seema Bal personnel of the 41st Battalion in Ranidanga, Siliguri rescued seven persons as well as two minors from a brick kiln in Mahottri district of Nepal on Monday.
According to Commandant Rajiv Rana, an NGO called Tiny Hands and Steps helped the SSB who shared information of the trafficked persons with the Nepal police. The latter conducted an operation and rescued the nine individuals from the brick kiln.
The minors were taken to the Border Out Post at Panitanki on Monday and later handed over to the NGO to be reunited with their parents.
