Fake currency peddlers arrested in Siliguri
EOI, SILIGURI, 16 Oct 2016: The state CID apprehended two Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) dealers along with counterfeit notes on Saturday from the Darjeeling More area of Siliguri.
The police said 33-year old Sudhir Sarkar and Pradeep Gogoi (49) were nabbed from the area upon receiving a tip-off.
The CID team seized Rs500 and Rs1,000 in fake notes amounting to Rs44,000 from the duo. According to DSP (CID) Gautam Ghosal, the culprits have been remanded to 14 days police custody for a thorough investigation. Sudhir is a resident of Baishabnagar in Malda while Pradeep is from Jayanti Nagar in Dhupguri, Assam
