Doctors worried over Abhishek condition
TNN | Oct 24, 2016, KOLKATA: The health condition of Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee remained a cause of worry for the 14-member medical board, a Belle Vue medical bulletin said on Sunday.
The hospital statement said: "While his fever, body ache and oxygen support continues, he is still feeling the effects of trauma (caused by his August 18 accident off Singur). This is causing a lot of anxiety in the medical board." On Friday night and Saturday morning, Abhishek's heart rate was also fluctuating.
"The tests results were satisfactory, causing some relief; but a grim overall situation," the bulletin said.
The statement said a decision on the surgery will be taken soon, based on the improvement in the swelling below his left eye. The continued anxiety appears to have reflected among party faithful who are thronging the hospital to check on his condition. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee is in constant touch with Belle Vue CEO P K Tondon.
A senior leader said, "His recovery rate is slower than what we expected initially. Senior doctors are monitoring his situation round-the-clock."
