Rewati Chetri crowned Senorita India 2016

KalimNews, Kalimpong, 11 September 2016: Rewati Chetri is crowned Senorita India 2016. Rewati from Guwahati, Assam defeated 16 other contestants to bag the crown of Senorita India 2016. On September 11, 2016 during the finale held at Novotel Hotel in Pune, Maharashtra. Rewati was crowned Senorita India 2016. Rewati succeeds Miss International India 2015, Supriya Aiman and will now represent India at Miss International 2016 pageant which will take place next month in Tokyo,Japan hoping to get crowned by the reigning queen, Edymar Martinez of Venezuela.

Senorita India is a beauty pageant launched by Perk Events with the objective of empowering talented young women and provide them a strong platform to launch their careers. The pageant shall pick the winner for Miss International India, Miss Intercontinental India, World Top Model India & Miss Teenage India.
Senorita India 2016 was the first edition of the pageant. Miss International pageant has been India’s Achille Heels at beauty pageants despite winning several runner-up crowns India is yet to win a crown there.

Rewati Chetri has already represented India at World Miss University, wherein she was titled as Miss Asia. She has been a known face in the world of pageantry via Femina Miss India 2015, wherein she was adjudged as Miss Popular.

At the same event, Aarushi Sharma was crowned as Miss Intercontinental India 2016. Aarushi Sharma will represent India at Miss Intercontinental 2016, which is slated to take place next month in Sri Lanka.

India had never won Miss International crown but has won two Miss Intercontinental crowns through Elizabeth Anita Reddi and Lara Dutta in 1978 and 1997 respectively.

23-year-old Rewati was born in Guwahati, Assam. Rewati is a commerce graduate and is pursuing Law from Guwahati University, She is full-time model and an actress. 

Rewati was a top 10 finalist at Femina Miss India 2014 pageant where she won Miss Popular and Miss Multimedia subtitles. She was also top 5 finalists at Femina Miss India Kolkatta 2014 pageant. 

Rewati represented India at World Miss University 2016 pageant where she bagged the continental queen of Asia crown.
