Mamata in north Bengal for administrative meetings
Prashant Acharya, EOI, BAGDOGRA, 22 Aug 2016: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee arrived at Bagdogra airport this afternoon for a two-day tour of north Bengal. She proceeded straight towards Sukuna Guest House without uttering a word to the journalists waiting to speak to her.
Banerjee is scheduled to halt for the night at the guest house and visit several areas of North Dinajpur district tomorrow and hold meetings with district officials.
The chief minister is in the region to at hold crucial meetings with administrative heads of Darjeeling and North Dinajpur.
She will attend an administrative meeting at Sonapur on Tuesday and may also finalise the board members of the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA). The board is presently headed by Saurav Chakraborty, but key members are yet to be selected.
