Bank heist inquiry
TT, Siliguri, May 6: Two fingerprint experts from the CID in Calcutta today collected samples from the Central Bank of India's branch in Bagdogra which had been burgled on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
Police found that six of the eight CCTV cameras at the bank had been broken. But they could retrieve some footage which showed three men entering the bank with their faces covered.
The robbers also damaged the main control panel of an alarm.
"Other than 16 of the 90 lockers, it seems, the cash kept in the vault remains untouched. But bank officers are yet to assess the loss,' said a police officer.
The bank asked customers to carry out transactions at its branch in Shivmandir, 7km away.
