Model school building construction started after a year
KalimNews, Jaldhaka, 7 December 2015: With the ground breaking ceremony of Model School building of Jaldhaka Higher Secondary School in the Kalimpong Subdivision of Darjeeling district held today, the construction of the 6 Crore building was started.The total cost including infrastructure is 8.51 crore.
After a period of one and nine months of its laying foundation stone the construction work started today.
It is reminded that on 17th February 2014 the foundation stone of the said project was laid by Roshan Giri, Executive member of the Education Department of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration in presence of Mr. Bimal Gurung, Chief Executive of G.T.A.
Dr. Lobsang Lama Deputy Chief of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration and the local Sabhasad as well as President of the school Managing Committee symbolized the initiation of the construction work of the school located in the Indo Bhutan border.
While addressing the students and the guardians he stated that the School is the only Institution where children of all communities, races, religions get together and get their basic formal and social education, so it’s a milestone of development for this area as a building with such a big facility is being constructed for the local people for the first time.
Everybody has to preserve it and even the construction work should be of utmost quality as it has to lake the huge load of students daily and it is more than a house.
Along with the other GJM Party leaders Mingmer Lama, C.B.Tamang representing the GJM, Chandni Gurung, Asst. Engineer of Special Department Engineering Division and Krishna Mishra, SAE along with the constructor and supervisor Rakesh Agarwal and Anupam were also present during the ceremony.
Party President C.B.Tamang, P.C.Rai, Head of the Institution also addressed the audience.
