Assembly winter session to debate intolerance

title=SNS Kolkata, | 08 December, 2015: The state Assembly will debate the issue of intolerance during its winter session beginning on 11 December.Both the ruling party and the Opposition parties, including the BJP, today agreed to take up the issue on the floor of the House.
The date for the discussion will be finalised at the business advisory committee meeting. State Assembly Speaker Biman Bandyopadhyay called upon the MLAs of all the parties to be present in the House after the recess as several important Bills are scheduled to be tabled when the short winter session begins at 3.00 p.m. on Friday.
Otherwise, the members introducing the Bills are discouraged by the poor attendance, he said. Two important Bills of the state labour department which are scheduled to be placed are the West Bengal Regulation of Recruitment in State Government Establishments, Statutory Bodies, Government Companies, Public Undertakings and the Local Authorities Amendment Bill and Employment Exchanges Compulsory Notification of Vacancies Amendment Bill.
The Bills, which the state higher education department is likely to tabled, are the West Bengal University and Colleges Staff Selection Commission Bill and The Brainware University Bill. The state law department is going to table the West Bengal Advocates Welfare Fund Amendment Fund Bill and the West Bengal Advocate Welfare Corporation Amendment Bill.
Bandyopadhyay said he had requested the late Speaker Hasim Abdul Halim’s son to bring his mother to the House when the obituary references will be made on Friday.
 Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is likely to be present when the obituary references, including that of Halim, the longest serving Speaker of the Assembly who passed away recently, will be made along with others.
