Monsoon Update on 13th July : Skymet Weather
Skymet weather, 13 July 2015: Several weather systems across the country will keep Southwest Monsoon active over hilly states of North India and parts of East and Northeast India. Let us have a detailed look at the Monsoon forecast.
The Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir is now moving away but the remnants of the system will continue giving good rains over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Monday.
Monsoon trough extending from North Rajasthan up to the Bay of Bengal across the low pressure area over Uttar Pradesh has again shifted closer to the foothills. Rain will continue all along the trough line, especially heavy rains over West Bengal and Sikkim.
The low pressure area over Uttar Pradesh will also move in north-northwest direction and with all these systems shifting away, rains over Haryana, Punjab and Delhi-NCR will now reduce significantly from Monday onwards.
The secondary arm of the Monsoon trough is also seen extending up to the Northeast region and with this we can expect moderate to heavy rain over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
The off-shore trough along the west coast has become active once again and will give good rains with heavy at isolated places of Konkan & Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
On Monday, light rain is also expected over parts Gujarat and Maharashtra including Mumbai. Meanwhile interiors of Peninsular India including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will witness isolated weather activity only.
