GYASA to sensitize Gorkhalis of NCR on rising discrimination

EOI, DARJEELING, 11 Jul 2015: To create an awareness about the rising crime against the Gorkha/ Northeast community, the Gorkha Youth and Students’ Association (GYASA) in association with Delhi Police for North East Folks is set to organise a workshop and have an open interaction with the Gorkhalis living in the National Capital Region (NCR) on Tuesday.
The workshop will be held on 14 July at the premise of Delhi Police for North East Folks, located at Motibagh, in New Delhi. The day also being the birth anniversary of Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, there will be a brief recitation of his work, and garlanding of his portrait, said a GYASA member.
The main objective of the workshop is to create awareness about various crimes faced by the Gorkha community living in NCR. This session will serve as a platform where we can raise our issues and problems directly to the Police department and find out ways how we work with the department for the cause of Gorkhas living in the city. The participants will also get to understand about the rights and other basic privileges bestowed by the constitution of India to its citizens, he further informed.
