2nd International Kirati Rai conference held

PR, KalimNews, Siliguri, 23 February 2015: The Second International Kirati Rai conference was held on the 21st and 22nd of this month in Siliguri.The two day event was jointly hosted by Kirati Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan West Bengal and Akhil Kirat Rai Sangh Sikkim and organised jointly by the two KKRS, AKKRS and Kirat Rai Yayokkha Nepal under the aegis of Kirat Rai International Co-ordinations committee. 
The first session was held at Iskon mandir hall presided by Prof Dr. Nawal Kishore Rai,Linguistic expert from Nepal. This session was attended by delegates of 12 countries and different states of India. In this session research paper on Kirat Khambu Rai language and script was presented by P M Rai, on Rai tribe was presented by Sasthak Satasak, paper on Mundhum was presented by Taramani Rai, paper on Mankhim was jointly presented by Mohan Dungmali, Gopal Rai and Roop Narayan Rai and Kirat dharma was presented by Jaya kumar Rai. It was followed by an interactive session of a series of discussion and question and answer round. At the end of the discussion 5 resolutions were passed that includes all Mankhims (Rai temple)built in any part of the world will follow similarity in architectural design.
The others were lipi (script) followed by Sikkim and Darjeeling will be given preference and Kirat Rai Yayokkha will conduct research on the same. 

Joint research will be conducted on a regular basis regarding the Kirat Scripture( Mundhum) along with rituals,customs and Language. Diwalung a magazine published from Pokriabong and official magazine of the conference was also released. 
The second day's out door programme was held in the Milan more ground attended by more than 20, 000 people. Kirat Rai Yayokkha President Yasodha Rai, general secretary Diwas Rai, Dr Nawal Kishore Rai and office bearers of the coordination committee and of UK was represented foreign delegates Kalpana Rai of UK, Shashi Madan Rai of HiongKong. Birendra Singh Rai of Bihar and represenatives of All India Kirati Khambu Rai Association Mahesh Rai, Dk Rai, Yogesh Muskhu and others also were present in the programme. Aimed with the unification of Khambus everywhere, the meet has proved to be a grand success. 
Mr Jyoti Kumar Rai, Sabhashad GTA was the chief Guest of the programme. A welcome speech was given by M.S. Rai. The meeting was presided over by Tara Kumar Rai, president of Kirat Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan. Vote of thanks and a brief speech on the history of the Khambus was given by Binita Khambu Rai general secretary of Kirati Khambu Rai Sanskritik Sansthan. 
Achievers from various fields were felicitated during the programme. Exhibition and sale of Khambu dress, literature, ethnic food items and musical items, rare artifacts along with decorative items and ornaments was the attraction of the programme. Traditional Rai sports competition was held.The prog The program came alive with artist from around the world who danced and sang to the traditional Khambu music.The program was hosted by C K Rai.
