Students block road

The blockade started around 9.15am and was lifted at noon after Siliguri subdivisional officer told the agitators that a meeting would be held on November 6 to resolve the issue.
“The regional offices of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education have withheld our forms saying Chaturvedi (headmaster Akhilesh Chaturvedi) was not authorised to sign,” Sumit Thakur from Class IX said. Over 400 forms are on hold. Chaturvedi could not be contacted today. Minister Gautam Deb said: “I have asked the SDO to convene a meeting ... We will take an appropriate decision to resolve the issue.”
