Drug Peddlar arrested
KalimNews, Kalimpong, 2 November 2014: A lady drug peddlar is arrested by Kalimpong police under section 18 C and 27 B of Bengal Drugs and Cosmetics Act with the largest amount of contraband drugs.
Drugs worth more than Rupees 13 lakh with cash of Rupees 3 lakh 86 thousand 90 spasmo proxyvon capsules and 326 N10 tabltes were seized from her house at Joredhara of Dungra in Kalimpong.
The lady is believed to be a supplier of drugs to the local peddlars. On raiding the house of Punam Chhetri (46), huge amount of drugs were found hidden in different parts of her house.
The seizure of drugs and the cash seized is believed to be the record in its history of cases of arrest and seizure regarding contraband drugs. Chhetri was arrested and produced in local SDJM court.
